We have a mix of foam and feather pillows in our house but in the last six months i have got my family used to using memory foam pillows. This has cut my eldest sons hay fever and associated allergies problems to Zilch! However - unless you can wash and dry them in a natural environment - they will soon fill up with the wondeful little bed bug who will delight in such a great living space. They need to be thoroughly vacuumed every week and washed at least three times per year. Put allergy free pillow cases on them and this will help. Both the foam and feather varieties you are using right now should be cared for in the same way - if not - sweet dreams!!!

Totally personal preference. I use a foam pillow, while my husband uses a feather pillow. One of my kids likes feather the other a plain cotton filled one. To keep his pillow on his side of the bed I have a plain cotton one in the middle.

If your disdain for feathers is due to allergies, they make synthetic feather/down fill. I personally don't care for down or solid foam. I have a non-allergenic mixture that is a foam-like pieces, for loft. It doesn't poke like feathers or feel like a "chunk" of rubber and is very comfortable.

I have a memory foam,anti-allergy pillow. I'm asthmatic so have to use one.
I hate feather ones-esp. when you change the bedding & get covered in 'em!

I have foam pillow - with a little tiny foam pillow tucked inside - it's got a speaker in it so I can listen to my radio without disturbing my other half - totally brilliant invention! I got it off http://www.snorestore.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d55_sleep.html
