Offer an incentive to your employees that is worth their while, because if they are getting something substantial out of it they will talk with more people. Have a customer appreciation day where you have hot dogs on a grill or in a crock pot and maybe punch, coffee or tea and then offer that to them. Also you could try a raffle of some sort (ie. tickets to a football game (NFL), baseball game (professional Orioles, Yankees, etc.), a piece of nice luggage, an extra one of the gifts they usually get for opening a checking acct, a gift card to a restaurant in the area or a movie theater) and tell them that they can enter every time they open a new account. When I worked at a bank, out Insurance specialist came out to our branch and had us get customers take a guess at what they think their annual cost for Insurance would be and if they were close with their guess they received a prize. Just remember everybody likes something for free or contests. Also decorate your branch with some of the free gifts that they receive with an open checking acct. Put fliers on cars, have a teller hand out brochures as customers walk in the door, staple tell-a-friend coupons to their receipts.

Use all of your resources ( Insurance Specialist, Loan Specialist, Mortgage Specialist).

Good luck.

I bank at a "dog friendly bank." Customers can take their
dog(s) inside the bank. The bank provides a doggy bowl with clean water, as well as, doggy treats!

The bank also has a coin-counter. Anyone can take take their loose change, toss it into a coin-counter and receive the equivelant amount of money from the bank teller.

One does not have to be a customer to use this service.

The coin-counter is very popular.
