I was recently watching The Tyra Show and she had a guest on there and they were talking about racism. They were discussing how white people are mainly the ones who throw racist comments. I know there are som racist white people as there are in all other races!! They were talking about how they would like to be white for just a weekend becuase it would be so easy. I disagree with that because if you are white you are being a victim of racism because people of a different race than you don't like you because they think you are racist. Who agrees with me? And why do all the minorities blam white people for the racism in the world today!

I don't agree with you.
Your white ancestors put you in the position you are in now.
And by the way the reason there is no WHITE HISTORY MONTH is because whites tortured blacks. They deserve a black history month.

Ha ha ha, I find the notion of Tyra banks wanting to be white for just a weekend because it would be so easy to be so comical. She is perhaps one of the most recognizable and beautiful women in the world and she thinks that she would find things easier if she was white. If she could walk around being me for a weekend and I could walk around being her I would jump at the chance and I am sure there are more than a few women who are white that feel the same way. The notion that all the ills of the world can be boiled down to the racism of white people is the equivalent of looking at the world with blinders on. Racism isn't simply the domain of white people and to believe that is just as wrong as having and supporting racist views.

That's a good question - I have a hard time understanding this - it is OK for two blacks to call each other "***--", but NOT OK if you are not black. I was born and raised near Oakland, Richmond and Pittsburg - but I do not have a distinct accent and slang used only by and with people of my skin color - I was not allowed to form a "Anglo Saxon" club at school, but there was one for Asian, African American, Japanese, etc. - mine idea was too "racist"... I never hear Jessie Jackson get behind and rally for any race other than his own - equal opportunity did not equal anything and added more hostillity - it put "minorities" ahead of qualified experience ... I never see products at the store specifically labeled as "Caucasian Magic", or magazines written specifically for "the Caucasian man" or woman... I have yet to hear a TV show where white people target any other race and condem them as being racists. There are no "caucasian college funds", no "caucasian history month".... racism will continue to be until the racists stop demanding they "deserve" to be racist hypocrites. Distinguishing things by race makes you racist. When the white race can freely put "caucasian" on a college fund, magazine cover, hair product, celebrate a history month, and school club, I will believe equality really can exist. Sorry, but I refuse to take blame for my antique ancestors, and I can't accept the rationalization behind the "I can put race labels anywhere and on anyone I want but YOU can't" attitude. I really don't care if others hate me for my color, just don't tell me it's OK for you but not for me.

Let me guess, Tyra is black. I've never seen the show but that is a typical statement made by the anti-white media. All I can say, after living in NYC, San Fran, Seattle, Tucson, Las Vegas and Philadelphia, is that blacks are be BIGGEST racists around. They don't even attempt to hide it. Number two are the Chinese but at least they don't start trouble. Maybe if blacks acted more civilized, they wouldn't be called names. Very few call Oprah names but everyone either thinks or says niggger when refering to Snopp Dogg.

First of all, I don't sit on my butt all day and watch talk shows like you do; like they say, "an idle mind is the devil's workshop." Too much time on your hands causes a person to think irrational thoughts... Second, your message is a garbled mess - get an English book to check for different types of punctuation and make "spell check" your friend...

I do agree that there's racism in all races; however, white people have treated blacks the most brutal out of all races. Racism is very prevalent in the South. It sickens me to see white people driving their cars with Confederate flags, having their Klan hoods out on the clothes line starched and crisp, telling their kids that they aren't good enough to hang around blacks, and throwing eggs at cars/schools while the word "N*GGER" is in all blue letters written with a permanent marker.

Yeah, I see this stuff everyday. It pisses me off to know white people raped, lynched, humilated, isolated, and tortured my people back in the slavery days, but that has nothing to do with how I feel about white people today--I have plenty of white friends. While I don't base my judgments upon what happened many years ago, I know that there are racist idiots still alive and well today....I can't speak for all Black people, but I can speak on what I've experienced...

i'm afraid you're gonna get a lot of flak for saying this, so i feel for you.

i understand where your coming from, especially since there are some 'white' people, like descendants of Irish, who never owned slaves, but they get lumped in anyway. i definitely think that white racism is the most socially believed, but there is racism between all races- some blacks hate whites, some hate hispanics, some asians hate blacks... its all widespread and really has no bounds. Tyra has had guests on her show who were black and hated black people. The belief that white people are the most/originators of racism is the most widely accepted belief. That doesn't make it true.

Hmm, well I'm from India and I have to say there is a feeling of deprivation when you look at western television and you constantly see the glamorous white people and their fabulous loves. So at the risk of opening myself up for abuse from the gen pop, I will admit, there is always a small part of me that was always envious of white people. They just always seem to have things come to them a little easier (for the most part)

However as an adult and an American resident, I now have a whole lot of white friends and it has changed my opinion of them a lot. I now tend to look at people less in color and more individually. There are so many white people and black people I like more than some Indians LOL!

Its all about education and perspective, and you have to remember, it takes time to gain perspective. After all black people are like Indian's in a way, we were oppressed by the white people as early as 50 years ago(60 years since India's freedom from the British Raj) We still have grandparents that have horror stories from that era and its hard to not let that affect you. Maybe our kids will deal with this better!!

I live in CA and I am white but I am the minority here. There were more Mexicans and Asians in my graduating class than there were anything else. I dont understand why people think that just because your white your racist. I am ONLY racist against stupid people, I dont care what color or race.

In history, white people always had the most power. It was Europeans that took over countries to make an empire, an example of this is Britain controlling India. The people of the countries resented them because of the takeovers for the empire. It also is that the majority of slave owners in the history were the white people. But if the show was saying how it is white people that are racist, then what they are saying can be considered a racist comment.

The solution is first, quit watching Tyra banks, vessel of wisdom that she is. Second, just stop giving a damn what others say. F*ck'em. They don't stop us from having anything. It is other white boot lickers and butt kissers who are the problem. Others are powerless to do a damn thing, so don't be mad at minorities, they haven't done it. It is other whites who would call you "racist" for even asking the question that are the problem.
