There is a swarm of gay ppl at my School, and I was wandering... "Are they nice?" They seem like an "in" crowd right now... I don't want to become one, I just want ot get to KNOW one. If you are gay: Feel free to answer this with your own opinion... and note that you are gay!

In my experience most gay people are very nice. It's funny because growing up, we, meaning the gay community, put up with a lot of not very nice people who choose not to be nice to us simply because we are different than them. They like to stick labels on us and give us amusing stereotypes. I think that experience/life lesson makes our community a little more sensitive to the way we treat others. We know what it's like to encounter hatred born of fear and outright bigotry.
However, regardless of sexuality, race, religion or gender there are always going to be complete buttheads in every aspect of society. Some people are just hardcore jerks who don't care about anyone. Fortunately, they are the exception and not the rule. In life, you just have to keep an open mind and form your own opinions on a case by case basis.

This is the most ridiculous question. Gay people are just like any other person out there, except for the fact that they prefer their own gender. If they are nice does not have to do with them being gay or not. If you are wanting to become friends with a gay because you want to be in the "IN" crowd, then I find that wrong and pathetic. You should want to become friends with some one because of who they are, not because of "what" they are. I am not gay, but I have a cousin who is, and he deals with all sorts of situations like this daily. Thanks, thought I would type my opinion, and hopefully you give all of this some thought. :)

I'm not gay, but why not just get to know some of these people at your school? Being gay is not a disease. If a gay person in your school had the confidence to 'come out' then I'd say he or she has no fears and is okay in my book. My son is gay though and is a very angry person. Though it doesn't have anything to do with his sexual preference. It has a lot to do with immaturity.

well, that depends on the person. gay ppl are just like normal ppl. we're just attracted to guys. if you wanna talk to a gay guy at school, make sure you're doing it for the right reasons! if you're doing it cuz you want a 'gay best friend', obviosly that is NOT the right reason. sorry, but i hear that all the time. girls mainly think just because im gay that im gonna be their best friend. it doesnt work like that, i mean, yes im nice to ppl, but i make friends just like you do.

once you're a sturdy-searching immediately guy, then i'd suspect that's no longer a lot that gay adult men are fantastic because that's that they are fantastic to YOU. similar reason some immediately adult men are fantastic to some women human beings and do not care about different women human beings one way or the different. I actually have got here across a lot of gay adult men who're no longer particularly fantastic.

Don't judge a person by the label. Do you judge ethnic groups the same way? We have a heart, a sense of humor, and compassion toward straight people. Some of us are not out for fear of the ridicule by our peers. Especially in school years.

most of us are very nice! we can, though, like anyone else, be mean, we tend to be accepting and very open, it also isn't something that you can just become! you either aren't or you are, so you wont be turning gay or anything!

I know dozens of gay people. They are all nice, and some of the least judgemental people you will ever meet. (Excluding fashion)

Generally speaking gay people are nicer than straight people. BTW, you don't become gay; you are or you are not.
