It sounds like you already have a negative idea about baskin robbins. I personally would recommend against it....your arm will get tired, you will be cold, you will be stuck behind a counter all day, and it is either really boring or really busy.

I would suggest that you work for a grocery store (like krogers or hyvee) to start out.

There are several reasons why:
1. The managers are usually pretty young,
2. You could be a manager within a year or so,
3. It is an excellent way to learn good customer service skills,
4. It will teach you humility....you are there to help.
5. You often do a wide variety of things during the day, so you don't get bored.
6. Grocery store employees are usually the most friendly people anywhere. If you aren't, you WILL be.
7. You will learn about marketing in general, and it will help you in any other job you have later.
8. They cater to kids' hours, and welcome those who want to work after school for a few hours or on weekends.
9. It isn't a sitting job....you are walking around most of the time you are at work, which is good for you.
10. If you decide to stay there for a few years, you can move wayyy up in the business and be making $$$ by the time you are 30. My uncle was the v.p. of a major grocery store chain and is filthy rich. He started out sacking groceries at age 14.

I have owned my own business and worked for several different companies, and I actually miss working at the grocery store a lot. I never thought I would say that, because when I was young I thought stores were stupid places to work!

if you heard how much it sucks, I advise strongly against you working there because Baskin-Robbins is not there for you to put money in your pocket. They just will pay you very cheap and you have to love every aspect of the job to get hired. I was there for the money and somehow my former boss found out and he practically was driving me nuts so I can quit. So, you have to love people and the products. If you are there for the money, somehow the manager will find out and find a way to get rid of you. Go elsewhere and apply
