It's different for everyone. I tried sex and walking. The sex just didn't do it for me. I then started walking around 2-3 miles a day with my husband on a bike next to me. It wasn't a speedy process for me. It took about two weeks. The baby will come whenever he/she is ready. And please, PLEASE don't try castor oil or any other weird suggestions some of the other answerers might have. It's dangerous and not medically proven. Anyway, good luck and congratulations!

I'm at the end of my 3rd pregnancy, and believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING there is to try.

Spicy food
Driving on bumpy roads
Shampooing carpets/scrubbing floors
Pineapple
Castor Oil
Black and Blue Cohosh
Evening primrose oil
"Labor Salad" (No I'm not kidding- google it)
Miles of walking
Sex
Squats
Praying (lol)
Nipple stimulation
Hot baths
I might have even forgot some!!!

I've even had the dr. "strip membranes" with my last two babies, and NOTHING happened.

I was scheduled for an induction at 9 days overdue with my daughter & went into labor naturally 5 hours before my induction. My son I had to be induced to get him out.

Sorry to tell ya, but finally I've given up. Nothing will speed it up if your baby/body isn't ready... It is the most frustrating feeling in the world.

Good Luck.

I tried EVERYTHING to self induce. Spicy foods, walking, having sex with my husband (that was a real chore too lol) and NONE of it worked. Finally, when my son was ready to come out, I went into labor (ON my due date!)

Good luck with whatever method you choose, but in my opinion, it's the baby who decides!!

When you are pregnant and get a massage, they can't touch your ankles, because it stimulates contractions and makes you go into labor... look it up on the internet... I know you are just supposed to massage around the ankle bone with lots of pressure... see if you can find anything about that! I'm just pregnant with my first so I'm not sure!
