I am sorry for your loss. Ask that Realtor to leave you his/her number and then call the sponsoring broker and threaten to sue them for causing an emotional stress. I don't think that you actually have the heck of a case, but that will scare the s**t out of them, hopefully next time they will think before calling in such situations.
I am a professional Realtor myself, I can not believe ho low some of my colleagues fall sometimes to get a listing.

Unethical might be a bit strong. Sleazy? Yes. Rude? Yes.
In real estate, the #1 and #2 reasons for selling a home are death & divorce. The realtor should not be cold-calling someone becuase their relative passed away, but statitstics show that you'd probably be selling her house.
So....not someone you want to work with, but not totally out of left field either.

I'm a Realtor in NJ and don't think that is unethical...however it is extremely tasteless and shameful. Since it offended you I would definitely call the realtor's manager and complain. In reality, however, we make a living from prospecting and this is one form of doing it. Although I have heard of others doing it, I would never be capable of doing such a thing. I'm sorry you had to deal with this situation.

Absolutely not ethical and I would contact the company the Realtor works for and complain. If they did not apologize for it I would make a formal complaint against the agent and the local company. Tha national home office would take it seriously.

Absolutely NOT. Call the Broker and complain. It's stuff like this that hurts all of us who try to be ethical.

While it may not be tactful or tasteful - it isn't against any rules unless you are on a "do not call" list.
I'm so sorry for your loss...
