Well Freddie Mercury died in '91 so it kind of ended things for the group. Another member, John Deacon (bass) later retired, so that left Brian May (guitar) and Roger Taylor (drums). Apparently they've got together with some new singer and call themselves Queen + Paul Rodgers. Personally I don't think they should use the Queen name as it's not really Queen without Freddie Mercury who was an amazing artist.

Sorry, but what rock have you been living under?? Freddie Mercury died of AIDS in 1991. John Deacon (bass) retired. Brian May and Roger Taylor (guitar & drums respectively) reformed Queen with Paul Rodgers (Free & Bad Co.). They out an alum in 2005 Queen+Paul Rodgers - Return of the Campions.

yea freddie died in 1991 from pneumonia from a weakened immune system from the HIV/AIDS virus. queen reunited last year with singer paul rogers from the bands Free and Bad Company. paul doesn't have the same range that freddie did, but he sounds pretty good with queen anyways. lots of youtube stuff around with paul singing with queen. originally former Darkness singer, justin hawkins, was going to sing with queen, and he did a few shows, but cancelled to focus on the darkness, only to leave that band a year later. he left the darkness saying it was too hard to not use drugs while playing in a rock band. darkness bassist has taken over on lead vocals.

Freddie Mercury died but they still tour without him every now and then. They also made a musical about him in London.
