Well, No. Children deserve the best. They shouldn't be raised in a negative unhealthy enviorment. And that includes poverty.

This is along the lines of those stupid bumper stickers that say " If you can't feed 'em don't breed 'em". I personally would like the beat the crap out of people who have those stickers! Who are you to decide who should have children or not. It is a basic human right!!!!! I know a lot of "rich" people whose kids are seriously messed up (aka the Hilton sisters). Money does not = good parenting. And just because someone doesn't have money right this second doesn't mean they never will!

Yes. Most definitely. In the future, there is going to be a HUGE food shortage due to global overpopulation and nasty climate effects, all caused by far too many people on the marble. My people will need something to eat. Your people will probably taste just fine. Remember, you are dumb and lazy, and that is why you are poor. I am smart and resourceful, and that is why I am well-to-do. Our kids and grandkids will get our genetic traits. See how that works? When poor people have kids, they are just breeding problems. Other people will breed solutions for them. Eating them will be a wonderful solution, considering the horrors that everyone will be living with anyway...

It's a tough question but in the end my answer would be : YES. who are we to decide if someone can or cannot have a kid? or who is the State, or the Church for that matter, to decide? I don't think we have this right.
And I know it might sound rhetorical but love still is the most important thing, and it's something you can't buy. Money will come sooner or later, you just have to work very hard.

In my opinion no. I see to many kids who are hungry, don't have shoes or clothes to wear because their parents can't provide for them. It costs a lot to feed, clothe and educate children. If you can't afford these things for yourself then you sure don't need to bring a child into the world..

Absolutely not! Until someone can prove they are filing a tax return for at least $40,000 they should be forcefully injected with contraceptives, locked away from the opposite sex, or forced to have abortions if they become pregnant.
If a poor person does somehow manage to give birth, the baby should be ripped from their arms in the hospital and given to a more "deserving" financially stable family to raise.
(I am not being serious you boneheads!)

I am assuming you are American or European and have never been out of the country or have any idea how most children live throughout the world. What do you consider Poor?
Someone who can not afford new shoes every few months? Someone who can't affort a phone? Someone who can't pay for medical care? Someone who can't get the latest toys?
Or maybe someone who can't afford food AND childcare?Someone who has to make a choice between food and heat?
Someone who lives in a slum?
Do you realize that a huge percentage of the children of the world do not have a dependable clean water source?
That a huge percentage of the children in the world will never get new shoes or clothes, they are all hand me down if they have any?
That a huge percentage of Children in the world will never have heat in there home?
Whole countries have no official Childcare at all and children are often alone or cared for by there siblings?
Poverty is subjective. And trying to dictate who can have children will not end poverty.
When I got pregnant with my son my ex husband and I had over 75K a year in income. My husband left me pregnant after 5 years of marriage for a younger not pregnant woman. Then due to all the stress of my pregnancy my son was born with a life threating illness and could not be placed in childcare, so I had to leave my job and go on wellfare. Of course a year later he was well enough to go into childcare and I got my life back on track, but the fact is my son has Never suffered in his life, compared to the majority of children in the world. He has alway had food, always had a home and a mom who loves him. He has never been cold or without warm clothes. Even at our worst when I was on welfare he has never known he was poor because I sacraficed and learned how to buy cheep and do without because my son did not.
Are you going to say that only Americans and Europeans can have children because those are the only countries that can say 100% that there child will eat 3 meals a day. Are you going to exile all the poor people to 3rd world countries if they get pregnant. Or are you going to use forced contraceptive and violate people's bodies, religious belifs, and Human rights as well as the constitution of the United States. Some of us actually still believe in the constitiution.
Let God decide who has Kids. Any child born in the US even on welfare stands a much better chance of eating tonight than any child born in a 3rd world country. Anyone who says yes to this clearly has a biased view of poverty due to limited experience.
Number of children in the world

Number in poverty

270 million with no access to health services (1 in 7)(this does not mean no health care it means no doctors even if they had insurance)
Children out of education worldwide
121 million
Survival for children
Worldwide,
10.6 million died in 2003 before they reached the age of 5 (same as children population in France, Germany, Greece and Italy)
1.4 million die each year from lack of access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation

Worldwide,
2.2 million children die each year because they are not immunized
15 million children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS (similar to the total children population in Germany or United Kingdom)

Although I agree that it's ill-advised to have children if you can't afford to, I don't think that the descision to have a child or not should rest with anyone other than the future parents.

Absolutely NOT! There is no reason for anyone to get pregnant this day and age, by accident. With all the birth control methods around, getting pregnant before you can afford to take care of your child is just criminal.

No they shouldn't. Further more if they have been institutionalized for psychiatric reasons they should be sterilized. Made more than 1 ward of the state, sterilized.
