One day out of nowhere my urine started smelling like... tuna fish... I figured my body was flushing something out. That was like 2+ months ago and still smells. Also it seems to be a little darker than normal, similar to if I were hungover. I have a history of heavy drugs but I have been clean for a few years now.

I looked online and I could only find vague answers. Should I just start popping some amoxicillin and hope it goes away?

Oh also, there has been no other symptoms that I know of. I also however have blood sugar problems, I have to eat every few hours or I get dizzy and cranky and mega spacy. Not sure if that is related because it seems to have been going on before this urine thing.

ok so I should drink lots of water constantly, take my amoxicillin just in case it's an infection, and make a doctor appointment in the meantime?

WATER, WATER,WATER! That's number one. #2. Stop self medicating, it maynot be an infection and you could be doing more harm than good. And finally Go SEE A DOCTOR. The darker color and odor could be evidence of blood. and though you may be clean, all the drug use may have finally taken it's toll on your kidneys. Or maybe it's bladder cancer. Who knows, but get professional help with that!

if you have the amoxicilain you could take it, but i would go see a dr if possible it could be a sign of something serious like your kidneys especially becasue of past heavy drug use, i knew someone once who was a heavy drinker for yrs-got on the wagon and didnt drink for yrs but ended up having severe liver problems anyway yrs later. drink lots and lots of water and no caffeine in the mean time and i mean alot as much as you can handle-this should help immensly-try it and see if there is any improvement good luck to you and congratulation s on being clean now from drugs that is great!!

Your urine odor is directly related to your blood sugar problem. Have you been tested for diabetes? If not, see your doctor - you may need to start taking insulin. In the meantime, drink plenty of water to flush out your system.

Don't take the antibiotics. Just go to the doctor as soon as you can
