My parents are still together. Mom's suffered a stroke and is not "herself" anymore. There's days she has no idea who my dad is, but he sits with her every day and they talk. He enjoys talking to her, even if she thinks he's some random stranger. It's really sweet.

my parents are still married, 34 years. My Dad has just been diagnosed with level 4 brain cancer and has been given a 13 month survival rate. He is 60. People get divorced a lot now. When I was a kid no one was divorced but when Jr. high hit everbodies parents started getting divorced left and right. I have 6 siblings. one has never been married he is 17. Out of the rest of the 6 us we all have been or are married, 3 have been divorced, 2 of those remarried.

I got married 2 years ago. Mine are still married, have been for 23 years. My Grandparents have just celebrated their 50th Anniversary. My other Gran is a Widow, she was married for 40 years before my Grandad pasted away. My Great-Grandmother became a widow after 30 years of marriage. There haven't actually been any divorces in my family, although that will soon change as my Aunt has left her controlling and cheating husband after 18 years together.
When I was at high school not so long ago, I was one of only 3 or possibly 4 girls in my class whose parents weren't divorced. When talking to my mates, I would mention my Dad, and they'd ask if I still saw him - they'd be shocked when I told them he still lived at home.

Mine stayed married for almost 50 yrs. until my father died. They almost got divorced when I was about 15 and I think my life might have been marginally better if they had. They didn't get along at all and it was constant fights. They would go down into the basement but we could hear the slanging match just the same and it was even more frightening because we weren't sure what was going on, if he would hit her or what.

Understand the risk factors like your age and maturity at marriage can determine how successful it will be, the anatomy of an affair and what you can do after infidelity. Understand the success factors like the personal and psychological circumstances that will influence your marriage, what are the tools and approaches available to you in dealing with conflict, and numerous other relevant data. The thing is, remember, this is information is not available for you to begin hyper-psychoanalyzing your relationship, yourself and your partner. No mine split up when we lived in married quarters in Germany with the army. I was five at the time, and then they got back together when I about twenty after I had left home that was eighteen years ago and they are still together. I had two step dads in that time, but I had a happy childhood and I am still very close to my mum and dad.
