I traded Bobby Jenks for Barry Zito. I need SPs bad and I have a surplus of RPs that are good.

This is a good trade. Since they are at two different positions its hard to compare them. But, at one stand-point if you have a surplus of great RPs then its a fair trade. Same thing if you need SPs. I would do this trade too.

Jenks has some injury concerns whereas Zito has been quite durable throughout his career. Zito is also moving to the National League which could help reduce his ERA and WHIP. And it isn't a stretch to think that if Jenks struggles, either with his health or his pitching, that he'll lose his closer job. You did a good thing by grabbing Zito.

I think that trade is perfectly fine. I am not sold on Jenks still (no control and decent fast ball) I honestly am waiting for him to lose his job any time this season or next. (his 4.00 era and 1.30 whip are a bit too high for a closer.

Now with Zito he is a great curve baller in a decent ball park. I think he will get you an Under 4 era with 15 ish wins with a decent ammount of strike outs. He wont win the cy young but as a SP I like him.

Good trade

Well if you need starting pitching Zito will fair well. I think he will have a big year being in the NL now. Last year was a once in a lifetime for Jenks. He won't put those numbers up again. Good trade!!

That is an awesome trade because zito is a great starting pitcher and jenks has only shown glimpses of good pitching and he hasn't been consistent. Great Trade!

Yep, good trade. Jenks has been wild and inconsistent this spring and Zito should get you 13-15 wins w/ a decent ERA, K and WHIP.

It's a good trade based on your team need. If you needed SP, then any solid pitcher will be good if you have a lot of RPs. I'd look to do another trade of the same positions if you have the capability.

great trade.

Zito should dominate in the NL and my guess is that by the end of the season someone other than Jenks will be closing in chicago.
