I have been on bedrest for a week, and went to see my dr. yesterday .. he wasn't in.. so I was waiting to see the other dr.. and see my OB on Weds. Well I was sitting in the chair waiting and I started feeling really sick, and got extremely hot.. and Thank God my grandma was with me but I guess I passed out, when I opened my eyes, the trash can was under my face.. and I guess I almost fell out of the chair, but I've read when you get up to fast that can cause it, but I was sitting down.. and all my vitals were normal, and my blood sugar, hemoglobin.. has anyone ever had this happened, or know what caused it?

I had it, too. So far, my doc can't find any good reason for it, either.

I've been getting heart palpitations with this pregnancy, though. Perhaps an EKG is in order? You may just have sinus tachycardia (which is just a fast heartbeat with no organic cause). They may just put you on a beta blocker until you're due if the fainting is excessive.

Talk to your doctor about it, and see what his or her suggestions are for you. A rapid heartbeat (over 100 bpm) can make you feel like crap, and can definitely make you faint.

That happened to my sister a few mos ago actually. she was at home sitting on the bed starting to eat apple sauce. she wasnt eating very well so she thought she would at least get something in her stomach. well as ahe went to eat, she passed out. thank God her hubby was right there with her. She was rushed to the ER and i guess everything was over all fine. she was getting a stomach bug cause when she got to the ER she started vomiting. She was just told to rest and eat and dring slow. Also i didnt mention she is preg with twins so that could have added to the fainting. good luck with u and God Bless

My doctor told me that these spells were caused by LOW BLOOD PRESSURE... I thought I might be anemic, or have HIGH bp, but she said it's low. It's because your aorta and your vena cava run down your spine, and the weight/size of the uterus can block those two MAJOR arteries, which cause fainting, dizziness, etc. She told me there's nothing I can do except sit down when I feel this way, to avoid falling and hurting the baby and/or myself.
But since you were at the doctor's office, what did YOUR doctor tell you it was? Hope you're feeling better.

Well its funny how you asked this because just today ive been feeling really weird. Im about 18 weeks now and I just sit here in my desk and do nothing most the time. Today first I felt like if I was gonna faint and I got this really bad pressure in my head. Then just now I sort of felt it again and my ears popped. Nothing that serious because I havent fainted but Ive been feeling like if I am. I dont know why, it just started today!!!!! help me too =(

I had a friend who did. She was about 5'1" and 85 pounds before she got pregnant. In other words, tiny. Apparently, the baby was hogging all of her blood flow and especially when she didn't eat enough, she got sick very quickly.
