I am going to be a grandmother and don't like the title. I wanted "little mama" but my daughter doesn't like that. Maybe Mia? What do you think?

There are lots of different ways to say grandmom. How about MeMa? And then there is MomMom? and my brother's kids call his wife's mom "Mrs." (I don't think she was ready to be a grandmother). And I have friends who are Polish and their grandmother is Posha. (If you have a strong cultural tie you could find out the title for grandmom in that culture and use it). I don't remember which culture it is from but another name for grandmom is Nooni. Good luck with your search and God Bless.

You have to choose some thing the baby will be able to pronounce, like Nan, or Nana, Gran, . keep it simple and non confusing, and you grandchild will be able to address you, My gran daughter called me nan, and when she turned four she started to call me Grandma. I asked her why, and she Looked up at me and said because you are my grandmother.

Let me see. Don't like the way grandmother sound or don't want others to know that you are a grandmother. I know of mothers who asked their children to call her "sister". If it is the latter. Don't worry. Grandmother can be foxy and sexy too.

Over here in England Nan, Nanna or Nanny is quite popular (not to confused with an op-air or live in childminder)

My son started saying "Nami" when he was learning to talk, and it just stuck. All my kids call their grandma "Nami". Sounds much better than Granny!
