You could have your baby early. Anything is possible. Call your OB if you have any questions.

You could go early. But the pressure and contractions mean nothing really. They can happen from week 28 and on. But I was 3 cm dilated for 2 weeks before the baby came. Some women can be dilated up to a month. I say you have it at 36 weeks and 5 days.

I am also 34 weeks pregnant and 1 cm dilated. I have been dilated for three weeks now although I recently went from .5 cm dilated to 1 cm dilated. I am currently on bedrest until 36 weeks. I have Braxton Hicks contractions quite frequently also but my cervix does not seem to be changing very rapidly. My suggestion for you would be to relax and stay off of your feet as much as possible. Make sure that you are drinking a lot of water as well because dehydration can cause your uterus to contract. I think that there is still a good chance that you will carry to full term (37 weeks or more). Good luck to you!

It is a possibility; however, I wouldn't worry too much. I was 1-cm dilated for two weeks, then 2-cm dilated for a week. The entire time, I felt pressure down there and had the irritating Braxton-Hicks contractions. If you have any concerns, as always, consult your doctor. Mine kept a close eye on me because I had lots of discharge and was spotting every now and then. Also, don't go by what your aunt says, that will only worry you more. Anyway, good luck and congratulations!

It's possible but it would be better for her if you were able to stay off of your feet and take it easy and try to keep her in there as long as possible.
If you're only 1 cm dialated you probably won't have her for another two weeks or so unless your body really is ready to have her.
I was 1 cm dialated for 3 months with my kids and then all of the sudden shot to 4 cm overnight. So it could be a while. I'd take it easy if I was you though.

Most babies do not come on their scheduled due date. This said, you really don';t want to have your daughter to early, I can guess, as long as your water has not broken, that if you went into labor today the doctor would stop it.

Hang in there a few more weeks. Keep your doctors appointments, let him know what is going on, and how you are feeling. The longer the baby stays inside of you, the better chances she has for development.

I have a girl, born at 35 weeks, she is in the 5 to 10 % for height and below the 5% for weight, at 31 months. She is healthy, was born at 5 lbs 2 oz and 18 inches. I had to have a C-section cuz she was breach, my water had broken, or they would have stopped labor. She came home with me, 4 days old. I was LUCKY.

Of course it's possible! If you are worried call your doctor. 1 cm. isn't that much. I've known girls who are in labor- o.k. mild labor-- for about a week before they give birth. Best thing you can do is calm down and talk to your doctor. Stop listening to your aunt (unless she's your doctor) and all the rest of us. Do what you think is best for your baby. :)
