Considering this was asked in an LGBT forum, we will assume you mean sex with a same-sex cousin. A lot of people experiment with people of the same sex, and sometimes those they experiment with are in fact their own cousin. I wouldn't say it is something you should do all of the time.
If you have experimented before and it just happened to be your cousin, then it is in the past now. Let it go, no need to harbor over it. You learned what you had to learn as to whether you enjoyed it or didn't, if the same-sex is really what you're attracted to or isn't. This is more about morals than anything else, and defining a moral standard is different for everyone.

Marriage between first cousins is still acceptable in some societies. So if you're referring to two consenting adults, I don't see a problem. I have a couple of cousins I wouldn't mind boinking.

EDIT - - Since this was posted in the LGBT section I assumed we're talking same-sex cousins. If my assumption is correct, then Heather, there's no concern for "retardation" and your other issues.

First off, no, it is not okay to have sex with your cousin or any member of your family. Secondly, just for the extreme pure fact that your messing with your genes when you do that. If you were to have children, there would be a huge possibility of having a child born with a plethera of abnormalities from deformities to retardation to learning disabilities. There are so many people in the world who aren't your cousin, look for one of them

If you're asking my permission, I say go for it. If you're asking if male-female sex between cousins is legal, probably not. It used to be commonplace for cousins to marry. There is a slight increase in the risk of birth defects, but usually there's no problem.

I wouldn't do it! Have sex with my Mother's Sister's Daughter? NO WAY! Having sex with a relative just is not something I would ever do. That's a temptation to stay away from I think! Didn't you hear about Jerry Lee Lewis? To me, having sex with a cousin is just as bad as having sex with a sister, or brother, your grandparent, aunt, uncle, great grandparent, parent.... it's just not really an idea I'd risk exploring! What if someone in your family found out? Oh my gosh, the drama! Can you imagine?

In some places it is still illegal outside of the normal age restrictions. It also can be a real problem in the extended family if things go sour. It also depends if you are gboth guys experimenting or if you are male and she is female.... It is a risky business either way.

well i think you could and couldn't. You could because well this is a wierd answer but FRanklen D Roosevelt married his distant cousin. And you couldn't cuz it might be illegal. But hey, you have the freedom to do what you want. :)
