Slip knots work great, or you could buy some leather cuffs that lock with padlocks. Once they are locked on you could attach them to dog leashes by the clip and that would leave you helpless. Rope ratchets work great, the rope can only go through it one way, by the way just how did you plan on getting loose? If someone else is coming to free you (eventually) these ideas are fine. The self bondage tried and true is the old key frozen in ice, you are helpless till the ice melts and makes the key accesable.

this is called autoerotic behavior and is pretty dangerous. There are a lot of accidental deaths when someone tries this because they do not have nay kind of fail safe mechanism. I had to investigate a couple of these and it is pretty sad how accidents can happen when a chair breaks or a person cannot get undone in time.

You might try tying yourself up with wet roap, then when the roap dries it should tighten up and make the knots harder to undo. But what will you do then?
