Not offensive at all. It is good to be reminded of the cost of freedom once in awhile. If only the demo-gogs could realize the importance of the numbers instead of trying to use them for political gain..

Because when it is presented without any context, it demonstrates the stupidity of the person reciting that number. Body counts don't mean anything, except to idiots like yourself.

In war, you need to assess goals, accomplishments of goals, etc. In a counter-insurgency, there will for a very long time seem to be little change, and no progress. Look at the UK troops in Northern Ireland - for many years it looked like nothing was being accomplished.

Perhaps it is YOU who live in some fantasy world where you can accomplish significant regime change or counter-insurgency operations without loss of life.

Tweak.

I'm a redstater and I know people don't come back from the dead. Next Monday will be the 3 year anniversary of the day my friend died in Iraq.

No it's not offensive and it's also not a video game. We are all well aware of the sacrifices made in the name of Freedom. How dare you reduce the sacrifice made by these brave people to your own stupid idiology? It's easy to tell that you have never served or you wouldn't be spewing such hatred of fellow Americans. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Well, if you consider that more were killed on D-Day than in four years in Iraq, I would say that the 'combat body count' is not a statistic in the 'anti-war' campaign's favor.
