No, didn't get that impression. The kid's been surviving several freezing nights, was disoriented and lost, and was thinking like a kid when rescued. Who wouldn't want a helicopter ride after feeling sick, cold, and achey after several nights out in the wilderness? It sure beats more walking. If this all happened within a couple hours, your point would be more valid. And his feet got cold because he'd been playing in the water too long, which could have made him sick and unwell.
Cripes. You're not a nanny or camp counselor, are you?

you realize what happens to those spoiled little ones? They at last grow to be adults, and whilst they do, they learn that Christmas is wasted on toddlers, who do no longer savour it. They understand that Christmas morning would not immediately contain a tree crammed with delivers and a filled stocking. They locate out that all and sundry which crap expenditures funds whilst the mastercard costs finally come. And terrific of all, they'll sooner or later have little ones of their very own who will whine for ever and ever with regard to the single modern-day they did no longer get whilst they're sitting in a pile of presents that their mom and father so lovingly picked out for them. :) Christmas sucks for adults. Congratulations for making it with the aid of what's regularly happening in many different international locations as "basically yet another day".

Hey, he is a 12 yr old kid. Maybe a little sheltered and that is why he needed scouts in the first place. He probably was never away from home before and he is used to Mom and Dad putting him first. Not so in a group. He was homesick. He may have been a little immature (or maybe right at his age level) but I think he is just a 12 y/o kid. I am just glad this was a happy ending. So often it is not. Give the kid a break. Be happy he is safe and his parents have their boy back

You are TOO funny, and I don't think you meant to be. The KID (get it, not an adult) was lost alone for three days. I don't know if Emily Post would be proud of anything I would have to say, given the same circumstances. Trauma effects everyone differently. I'm just glad to have a happy ending - there are not enough of them anymore.

I do agree that it was rude him to say " I'm hungry, give me some water". When the first thing he should have said was "Thank you for finding me". But I'm just glad that he is alive. It is a miracle that he survived 4 nights of sub freezing weather in the wilderness.

He is a child who went through a terrible experience. You should come up with something better than that to make fun of!
