I've only ever used the Brother 929D because my mom and I both have it. It does an OK job but then I haven't tried to do anything more than finish edges with it.

You might check this site: http://sewing.patternreview.com/. They review a lot of sewing related items including sergers. Or this: http://www.epinions.com/ which tends to review a wider range of consumer items.

If I had to choose from that list, I would pick the Baby Lock. I looked at the Brother and wasn't impressed. What happens if you want one needle and one looper?

I have a Janome 734D, 2/3/4 thread, 2or1 needle serger. I love it. It's so easy to thread and easy to use. I use a Janome because out of all the dealers around here (all major brands within one hour's drive), my Janome dealer offers the best deals, the least pressure and the best after-the-sale service. (Plus he sharpens all my knives and scissors for free!)

From that list, the Babylock. I think Brother is a brand that's cheap but not as reliable. A man I knew who repaired machines said he worked on Simplicity machines all the time....meaning they messed up a lot. If you have the money, look into Bernina or Pfaff machines.
