I'm 13, joined a bad crowd. My bro told me several times to leave those guys because they were dangerous. I didn't and he ended up telling our parents, said he had no choice and had to protect me. I was grounded, got really mad at him, felt betrayed, and took a revenge. I was so full of anger that I told his friends he was on drugs and even used to traffic them. Fortunately no one believed me and I got in abad situation. My bro got to know, got kinda sad, even cried, but disdn't tell my parents and told hos friends to forget about what I did, because it was said out of anger, a childish thing and I didn't meant it. Well, I got to know one of the guys of that crowd tried to rape a girl. I felt so ashamed, like a worm and apologized to my bro, who was kinda hurt. He forgave me but I still feel kinda bad about what I did to him. I told his friends it was a lie and apologized. But How can I make up for what I did? Should I tell my patrents in front of all the family and apologize again?

My bro thinks \I shouldnt tell our parents, this would only cause unnecessary pain. He thinks the best think to do is forget about my lies and pretend nothing happened.

In a situation like this, the best thing to do to make amends with people who truly care about you is to make genuine changes in your life... actions speak louder than words.

DON'T TELL THE PARENTAL UNITS! Your brother is obviously a smart guy who thinks things through rationally. You DO NOT want to start more trouble where trouble doesn't need to be started. That's what he's trying to avoid.

The best thing you can do for your brother is what he asks. If he wants you to let it go, then let it go. But just keep it in mind for the future, in case he ever needs a favor, etc.

And for God's sake, stay away from trashy people.

My parents told me this every day growing up, and I never believed them at the time, but I now know it is the honest-to-God-truth:
"The Bad always rubs off on the Good, and never the other way around".

In 10 years, the "rebellious group" ends up in prison.
In 10 years, the "nerdy group" ends up owning Microsoft Corporation.
Plan ahead.

Wow! You have a very forgiving and loving brother. Just follow his lead and if he says your apology is enough, then it is enough.

Now you can show him by your ACTIONS that you meant your apology and try from this day forward to respect him and treat him lovingly and kindly.

I am happy to see that this has affected you the way it has. A humble heart is a heart that can be shaped and molded into a wonderful human being.

No one is perfect. We make mistakes. But those mistakes only stay mistakes until they become lessons learned.

This is life. It sounds like you are handling it well.

wow you are very lucky to have a brother like that!! I think the best way to make it up to your brother is to take care of yourself and don't get into anymore trouble! It will make him happy to see you care about yourself as much as he cares about you! Just keep on reminding him how grateful you are, and let him know that if he was in trouble you would do the same for him. If he doesn't want you to tell your parents then you shouldn't, because he might get upset. So just forget about it..... but always remember what he did for you!
