Of course. Had D-Wade not gone down with the shoulder injury, my answer may be different. With Wade out, the Heat have been forced to restructure their offense to a slower halfcourt style of play that is centered around Shaq (whose return from injury couldn't have come at a better time).

The bottom line is this: since Wade went down, the heat have gone 10-3, and their defense has been as good as it has been since last year's NBA Finals. The offense has found a halfcourt rhythm that inherently helps their defence through controlling the tempo of the game.

Since Wade went down, the Heat have beaten several quality teams (including the Jazz, Pistons, Wizards, and Bulls), and have looked like the dominant team in the East in doing so. This team is poised to embrace Wade's playoff return with a new style that will enable them to return to the Finals and quite possibly repeat as NBA Champions.

Yes.

They play in a conference where even the best teams aren't that great. The only quality teams other than Miami in the Eastern Conference are Cleveland and Detriot.

Detriot is very vulnerable this year. The loss of Ben Wallace really hurt them so they really don't have anyone that can match up in the post with Shaq.

Cleveland is really hot right now, Lebron is finally starting to play like people thought he was going to. However, he is still the only real player on that team, so if you can stop him, you can beat the Cavs.

Shaq stays healthy and Miami may very well make it to not only the East finals but the NBA finals as well.

Why not? Well if D. Wade is capable of playing 80% then I say it's highly possible since the East is so damn weak.

Still the Pistons have to be the Eastern finals at full health and home court advantage. Cavs are still a year away.

Regardless who gets in... It's the West that wins it all.

Here's why....you only need a .500 record to get into the playoffs in the Eastern Division and then you have the real season(win or go home). Miami is starting to hit their stride and are beating playoff teams right now without Wade, they have seasoned veterans in Walker and Payton who've stepped up their games for the playoffs last year. And Kapono(3-pt specialist) and Haslem who are playing better, and remember they are still defending champs with the most dominate center in the league and Wade said he would be back. All that spells another finals appearance.

Most likely no but the east has sucked this year and I compared it to the JV teams in high school and the west being the varsity. But yes i think they can make it to the east finals but winning that game will be a challenge.

I wouldn't worry much about Wade because Miami is playing better without him, but in the playoffs they'll need as much fire power that they can get.. They have the same team as last year and all Chicago needed was one win to eliminate Miami from the Playoffs. This season Miami got Eddie Jones, Chicago got Ben Wallace. Plus Detriot is playing much better, Washington is aswell. it will be rough, but they can make it, but everyone needs to play to their top potential.

if shaq and wade becomes healthy, then they could contend for a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals?

yea, Dwade is the best in the game at guard and shaq can still be the best in the game at center. They'll make it to the finals, but then they'll get stomped by dirk and the mavs

Yes indeed. You got the greatest center and player in basketball history. Plus you got the second greatest player in basketball history coming back from injury to take it all the way to the east finals and ready to bring it back home in the finals. BACK 2 BACK baby!!!!!! yeah!!!!!!!
