By horrible I am guessing you mean pimples? First thing is to take care of your skin. Use a cleanser and moisturizer (use a lotion instead of a cream) twice a day. Make sure it has SPF. Also use a scrub about three times a week. And some kind of blemish cream. Aveeno or Neutrogena has a good line for skin clearing and its at drugstores. As far as the make up, have you tried using a powder form instead of a liquid? Neutrogena also has mineral make up now. My friends say it worked pretty good. Stay away from thick liquids. Maybelline also has a good light foundation called Pure Makeup. I would concentrate on the skin care though. Once that is better your make up will look better.

What you need is a good foundation that is specifically designed for your skin type. From the information you have provided, it seems to me that you have oily skin. So, in order for your makeup to stay put and not melt off, you would need an oil-free, water-based foundation. Avon, Bare Minerals and Covergirl have good foundations especially made for oily skin. Check out their websites.
P.S. Since you are only 14 years old, try not to wear foundation all the time unless you have a special event to go to. What you could do to keep your skin clean, clear and fresh-looking is to buy a face-wash and an oil-free astringent. Check out the Neutrogena, Garnier, or Clearasil products at your local drugstore.
Good luck :)

Go to a nice dept. store and get made up by a professional. Invest in the good stuff, it lasts longer on your face and in the jar. Clinique is a good brand. You may want to skip the liquid foundation part and just use the powder. The look nowadays is fresh and makeup free, but you gotta use a lot of it to look that way. Experiment with different brands till you find one your skin likes and lasts as long as you need it. Cheapest way to experiment is to get a free demo at a nice dept. store.

I have really poor skin too, and being 16 I've had to put up with it for a very long time and had the chance to try out many different foundations!!
Firstly make sure you cleanse with a good face wash, preferably with jojoba beads to exfoliate. Moisturising often helps too because without it, your skin needs to make its own oils, making your make-up melt or run off.
I use a liquid foundation as well as a powder one. My liquid is 17 oil control mattifying foundation. Its really good. And I have a Clinique powder one for extra coverage. Hope that helps.

You should make sure that you are on a great skin care....one that is formulated for your skin...Mary Kay's Velocity is great for teenagers....it is also great for acne pron skin and oily skin....If you use a liquid foundation, apply it, let it dry and then brush on a light powder with a foundation brush...that will really help control the oil and if you have the right colors, it will not look like you have a lot of makeup on....you will look natural

Since your face looks bad with makeup on you should try using a powder foundation instead of liquid. Do you use concealer? Try bronzer to brighten up your skin tone as well.

why do you always wear make-up? wearing make-up always will definitely make your skin worse. try not using make-up for a while to let your skin recover.
apply powder, using a fluffy brush once in a while to prevent your liquid foundation from melting. or better yet, use a mousse foundation (like the one in maybelline's). this one does not melt easily.

before you apply any makeup, wash your face with those olay soapy cloth things. then i use a powder foundation because it sticks much better to skin and doesnt give you that melting effect. also, i apply "too faced magic illuminating wand" or something along the lines of that, its $32.50 at sephora. its friggin expensive but it makes your face look smooth and airbrushed. also, try buying some more exoensive makeup made from all natural ingredients. quality and natural is better than having a bunch of crappy stuff made from plastic you got at the drugstore.

If I were you I would use bare minerals but before you apply it always use a little bit of moisturizer so your makeup will stay fresh throughout the day and it will last longer on your face

well if your skin is the problem maybe its not how you are applying your makeup.you should start using a facial cleanser and mousterizer, which will help the makeup go on more smoothly.wear a loose powder over your foundation to set it into place.also try maybe not to wear as much foundaion or try a tinted mousterizer instead.and also a lot of places have a primer for the face that might help with makeup coming off.try this.http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?ngextredir=1&CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY18349&PRODUCT_ID=PROD7953
