Should I bother installing Direct X on my laptop...?

I don't use it for games, or graphic intense aplications. These are my laptops specs:

Toshiba Satellite
A135-S4467
Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz
1536 RAM
160GB Hard Drive (38GB C, 110GB D)
Windows XP Professional

Direct X has other uses besides ' games, or graphic intense applications '.
It is also 'Within' your O/S "Windows XP Professional".

I would definitely consider 'Installing' it.
