I think it depends on if you have a woman gyno and how open you are. I went at 15 and was mortified!! I had a male, older, and very stern looking. He made me feel like a hussy or fast and all I wanted was to regulate my period. I didn't go back until I was 25 and that was only because my cramps (during menstruation) were so bad I would be doubled over in pain. So if you have a nice woman doctor, the same race helps... its cool to start at 16 or so.

Age 18 is the best time to go for your first Pap- Unless you have started having sex then you will need to see a Doctor sooner, I just asked this question on Friday at my doctor's office because I have a 15 yr old daughter and was curious too.
