Your question is not very clear.. You mean facts that prove this?
Philip was elected leader of all Greeks by the Pan Hellenic council. This way he managed to unite the Greek city states who were constantly fighting each other and with the Macedonians as leaders he started planning his campaign to Asia. He wasn't able to do it as he was murdered but his plans were concluded by his son Alexander the Great who managed to unite once again the Greek city states, conquer Asia and bring Greek culture to all the known world.
This are all facts documented by ancient and modern historians.

Two historical reasons as far as I can think now are

1. the fact that the greek states of the south were tired because of the civil wars and

2. the evolution of the greek phalanx into the macedonian phalanx (new weapons => the sarissa = the longest spear in history) and the fact that the cavalry and the army of the greeks in macedonia could deploy faster and was capable to fight at any season.
