She was really sad and everything, but she won't stop herself from getting trashed almost every weekend. She was crying saying "i killed my baby". I don't even know if she knew she was pregnant...but wouldn't something like this cause someone to slow down their drinking?

As a former person with a drinking problem, I can tell you this. A person will not seek help until they reach their "bottom". She has not reached hers yet it sounds like. Just pray for her and be there for her. She will hopefully find her "bottom" before she does any more damage to herself.

Its not alcohol addiction here, its the pain of losing a baby that maybe really wasn't wanted in the first place. Your friend may be suffering from a combination of the initial shock and denial of being unexpectedly pregnant, which may be why she drank so much in the beginning, then when she actually lost the baby, the guilt was just too much to handle on top of everything else she was going through. She really needs professional help and is lucky she has you for a friend. Helping her through this will be emotionally costly for you, too, so try to keep your perspective as you go through this with her, should you so choose. Its easy to be swallowed up in these kinds of issues.

no when someone is alcoholic nothing and noone but an act of God can help them quit. Anyway realistically, tell your friend she needs to get some really good birth control so this doesn't happen again. If she is your friend but is too loony right now to do this, help her. Take her to a health dept. or a gyn. She definetly does not need to become pregnant, if she gave birth to a baby the poor child may have birth defects from her alcohol use.WHY DOES NOONE MENTION BIRTH CONTROL.

If you think she has a drinking problem and are worried about her I would sit her down and tell her just that!
Although if she really is an alcoholic she prob wont listen to you, she needs to hit her "bottom"..
Maybe take her to an AA meeting or a Celebrate recovery meeting.
Call around and find a grief counselor. Pray for her! I will.

Someone with an alcohol addiction usually cannot stop despite harming themselves and others. She needs to seek professional help as soon as possible. You can help her by being there for her.
