i am not really sure but my quess would be they have the civic si coupe which is about the same as the rsx but cheaper. I think they will eventually come out with another 2door vehicle in the future. consumer reports gave the 06 rsx a bad rating

Honda and Acura either phase out or completely redesign models about every 5 years. I think Acura has also decided to move up farther upmarket from Honda. The RSX and Type S model were at the end of there model cycle and the TSX is now taking over as the entry level Acura.
Honda and Acura are very well made and designed automobiles.... Seriously! Ignore the comments above...

There is a trend showing that more people are willing to pay for the civic Si than the RSX or type-S simply because the price difference. They share quite a bit the chassis between these two cars and you really won't feel much difference in terms of handling when you put them on the similar modification.
Only few buddies are willing to pay more for a rsx which is slightly improved in wind/engine noise, bose, with an upgraded 200hp engine (previously in honda prelude)
Both Civic Si and Type-R now are having close to 200hp, so this tells you Honda can still make pretty good money out of it by getting rid of the rsx.

yes they are discontinued and will be replaced by a TSX coupe. They are trying to lure the older demographic buyers to make the Acura brand more for people ages 30 and up to have the luxury reputation that BMW and Mercedes has. In other words Acura will be competing against the big luxury names and all Acuras will be phased out into all wheel drive cars.

Yeah.. they guy above me is really smart...that's why it's a proven FACT that Toyota and Honda make the most reliable cars on the market today.
I'm guessing the reason that they are getting rid of it is because the RSX can almost be considered an economy car. Since Acura wants their name to be synonomous with luxury, they decided to get rid of their economy car. (just my guess). BMW used to make a 318 hatchback that they no longer sell.. at least not in the US.

because rsx is weak and ugly and no one buys it. their not making enough money. majority of people usually stick with the 2nd and 3rd generation of the integra.
