Seriously, I could have to go to the bathroom and be fine but as soon as I get close to the door, it's like i'm doing everything in my power not to pee my pants. I'm fumbling with keys, clenching my legs, and can barely make it in the house to the bathroom, yet when I was further from home, I was fine. What is this?

It's psychological. Your mind knows that "relief" is "right around the corner" and sends a signal to your body to "get ready"! Your body gets so excited that it just wants to release everything right then and there. So in short, this occurance is the result of your mind and body working against you! (lol)

I think that you are just putting yourself in the position of testing the outer limits of endurance in these cases.

There is no harm in planning ahead so as to not push the limits.
