I love pampers. I never had luck with huggies, they either pill up on the baby or they leak.
Pampers are great. Never had any diaper rashes, no leaks unless you have a real big newborn blowout (which can happen at times).

I liked Pampers the best. The Swaddlers to begin with. I loved them on a newborn because they have a cut out for the umbilical cord. Then the Pampers Cruisers are good when they out grow the Swaddlers. They stretch good as the baby begins to move. Pampers are the only diapers that I found not to leak. They also were the only ones that my babies could use with out getting a rash. They are excellent on Senstive skin also. I HATED Huggies. They leakes a lot even with just a little urine...and when my son pooped it would go up his back all over his clothes. Pampers did not do this. Luvs are even better than Huggies. They would be my second choice. I also HATED the Wal-Mart brands. White Clouds leakes a lot too...and I changed my babies every two hours or sooner as needed. The only store brands I found that I liked were CVS and Brooks.

I started out using Luvs (made by same company as Pampers, but a bit cheaper). I got some Huggies at my baby shower, and really liked them, so I switched to those later on. My reason for switching was I like the elasticity of the Huggies top. A lot of people, if they changed my daughter, would either fasten the diaper way too tight, or my mom would put it way too loose. So with the Luvs, there was either not enough room at the waist or too much. Using Huggies has been easier, since the waistband and tapes are stretchier. You will have occasional leaks with any brand diaper, but Huggies work great for us most of the time. I get the biggest box at Walmart, and use coupons when I have them.

We started out using Pampers Swaddlers and they were great.
I have also used Target diapers which were good for when they're little and dont do much.
Luvs were pretty decent and cheap. Got the job done....if they leak you can get your money back from the company!
Right now were back to Pampers and in the Cruisers since shes moving all around. They are GREAT! She has had 2 super poops today and NOTHING leaked out! (how it didnt I have no idea because they were full!)
edit-I have never had a broken tab on any diaper I've used in 8 months. Also, Cruisers have the caterpillar stretch and fit her muffin top great!

Actually, my older son wears White Cloud (by Wal-Mart). They work better for him than Huggies. (We used Huggies on him for the first 6 months.) I VERY rarely have a problem with leaks (only over-night every so often, but that has only been within the past month). I also like the fact that they have elastic of sorts at the waist. The Huggies kept leaving pieces of gel on his bottom even when we change him immediately after peeing. And, he was allergic to Pampers.
My infant son wears Luvs. I like them better for him as they get mushy when wet so it is easier to tell when he needs to be changed even when he just pees a little bit. I don't like the fact that Luvs don't have the elastic type waste. I may considering changing over to White Cloud for both of my sons for the superior leak protection of the waist band. (Nothing is fun about poop coming out of a waistband of a diaper when you baby is sitting on the floor!)
And, both of these brands are a lot cheaper than Huggies or Pampers.

The best diapers for my daughter have always been Luvs. She leaks out of all her diapers (even when she has barely used it) that weren't Luvs. They are AT LEAST a few dollars cheaper than Pampers and Huggies too. I wouldn't suggest store brand diapers because their quality isn't too good.

Hi
We use Huggies now, but as n newborn we used pampers. Each time these brands just seem to fit his little hiney the best and no leaks.
Although my Huggies are leaking at night so I may go back to Pampers.
It is trial and error!

I could only use Huggies with my son. Pampers always leaked and the no-name cheap brands always leaked.
Huggies was always there for me. Wait til the go on sale and stock up a few bags.
I have friends that used the cheap brands with their sons and they had no problem, but I did.
Wasn't worth it to me to have all the leaks. Trial and error is what will work with your baby. In the beginning they pee and poop so often u wont get a chance to make up your mind, first week or two that is.
I'd try the cheap brand first.
You can't buy size "newborn" in the cheap brands..well not around here anyways, I bought Huggies newborn diapers with my son, and already have bought one package for this baby..not due til August :)

we loved the pampers cruisers when our little one was big enough for them. Before that, we loved Huggies. Luvs gave our child a rash and when the pee'd it smelled. Huggies and Pampers has scent added to their diapers to make them smell all nice and pretty.

Chosing diapers can be very tricky. I always use Luv's. I like the way they pull the urine or b.m. from the baby's skin. And they don't cost too much.....(But when you buy then for over a year, any diaper starts to seem expensive! lol)
However, my Mom always uses Huggies at her house. It is all personal choice.
Be careful though, some babies are allerigic to some diapers, and to some wipes. Just experiment until you find what you are looking for in a diaper!
