actually here in northern ireland, i'd be better off in prison as the ban won't effect them.
so they will be indoors puffing away, while i go and stand in the carpark freezing my t*ts off.
who mentioned justice ?????

its not harmfull .its fun smooking one .. here is where it comes from its an alternative to smoking and is less harmfull than a CIG
research has indicated that the use of the hookah may reduce comparitive cancer risks, though such studies are certainly not conclusive (Hoffman, Rakower, Salem 1983 and 90, Gupta Dheeraj 2001, Tandon 1995, Lubin 1992, Hazelton 2001, Stirling 1979). The levels of carbon monoxide produced during a shisha session varies widely depending on the type of coal used. However there is a notable difference in areas of carbon monoxide absorption, in that while cigarettes have a notable effect on the small respiratory tracts rather, shisha smoking mostly affects the major airways (Bakir 1991, Kiter). This means a lessened FEV vs FEV1/FVC ratio compared to cigarettes, which is believed to be less harmful for the airways long-term. However, it should not be considered as a "safe" alternative to common cigarette smoking.

Thank you for making me look up Shisha.
I suppose it would be because they are directly involved in that business and not as a place of public entertainment.
We had a similar legal thing happen here with bars trying to label themselves as private clubs to avoid antismoking laws. They lost, so even a private club is not allowed to have a smoking room now.

I saw the news item today. I thought the reporter said the bars would be in danger of closing down when the ban comes into force in the summer?

I believe that law states that as long as the establishment does not serve food, smoking is allowed.
So pubs that have kitchens, smoking is prohibited
