I live in a studio apartment with my boyfriend. The lease to the apartment is under my name and not his. For the year he has lived here he has only paid the rent twice and the rest of the time he has been unemployed and not able to contribute. He lacks motivation and I am tired of taking care of everything. I want him to move out but he refuses. My issue is he moved out here from another state so he has no where to go. What are my options? He does not want to take a plane ticket (which I offer to purchase) to go back with his family.

Give him a 30 day eviction notice (in writing!) An tell him that by the due date, you will have the Sheriff department escort him out.

Then change the locks and give in a ONE way ticket back to mommy's lair.

Good luck

You remember the old song.....make a new plan stan, drop off the key lee, set yourself free. Get rid of the freeloader the best way you can and stop the guilt. It's not your responsibility to ensure he has safe passage back home or has another place to live. This situation is not likely to change. You can evict him through legal proceedings or find another apt. to rent and leave him for the landlord to contend with. Act quickly before you get more sucked into the drama he has created. And just for kicks you could start bringing your dates back to the apt. LOL

Get one of your guy friends to set up shop in your bed / place and you take a two week vacation out of town, tell your buddy to feel free and lounge around naked (put sheets on the furniture) have a few lovers over and spend as much time at the place over the two week time.
Do not tell your boy friend of your trip just leave and be sure to give the guy camping out at your place a signed statement for his stay and tell another family member or friend what's going on to support your pall.
This will be more effective if your pall is a six foot muscular homosexual.

If you want him out, kick him out. Pack up his crap, leave it outside the door and change the locks! You are way more nice than I would be, I wouldn't even have given him the option to take a plant ticket that I would buy, I'd just boot him out!

call the cops have him removed from your home he didn't want the plane ticket so let him stay in a shelter that's his own fault for being lazy and not getting a job

Wow you sure have a freeloader on your hands. While he is out doing something that freeloaders do get all his stuff and put it at the curb and change the locks.

i say go to your apartment complex and talk to them about what they do to tenants that do not pay their rent and need to get kicked out. once you get the exact details from your leasing office on what they do then you can proceed to do the same thing. and once he is out...have your locks changed.

kick him out......period....if he won't go, tell the landlord/cops....your boy had his chance and blew it...you are helping him by doing this because now he will HAVE to do something to support himself. you told him to move out and he refused......what gives him the right?....maybe you can get the landlord involved and see to it that he pay his share of the rent.....he won't be able to without a job and thus, the landlord will have to boot him.
