I am thinking of buying one for my husband for Father's Day and am wondering if you can play ps1 and ps2 games on the ps3? I tried looking on the website, but couldn't find anything of relevance so thought I would ask here. Thanks if anyone can help!

Yes, you can play MOST of the PS1 and PS2 games on the PS3, just like with a PS2, you can play a few PS1 games. If you try playing a PS3 game on a PS2, the quality will be low. People wouldn't pay that much money for a PS3 if they knew that they can play PS3 games on a PS2.
