I used to be a Pontiac technician and this is an easy fix. The lock actuator as a little rubber piece that gets torn causing the lock not to work. Just go to any dealer and as for a bumper kit for the door locks...this is extremely common and is an inexpensive fix. Most GM cars have this problem at some point

Sounds like your power door lock actuator motor.Does it lock with the passenger switch?if not most likely the actuator(inside passenger door panel)You could try a used one.I recommend new for electric stuff though, longer lasting as a used one just might crap out soon.Good luck

sounds like the little celanoid that operates the lock for that door may be burnt out or possible loose electrical connection; If celanoid is bad, remove and get one from a local junkyard.Dealerships can be very expensive. If you cannot perform the job.Go to a local repair garage.Should be no more than an hour of labor.
