I would check with your local YMCA to see if they offer such a service. And if not, they may know someone who does give lessons for disabled children and would be willing to help out.

You can also call up your local pool (or a local university with a swim team), and ask whoever works there if they could put up a notice about a disabled child needing swimming lessons, and give the age, your phone number, etc. I am a lifeguard and water safety instructor (aka swim lesson instructor) in the summer, and I get my private lessons by snagging these notes put up on our bulliten board. I'm also on my university's swim team, and my coach lets us know if someone has called her asking about private lessons, and we teach them during open swim times.

Prices vary by instructor and how long the lesson is. I charge based on what level the child is at, usually less for the youngest levels, most for the intermediate levels where I'm doing a lot of teaching (and not so much just getting the kids used to the water), and a little less for the oldest levels (where it's just fine tuning of the strokes). You'd have to ask the instructor how he/she charges.

I have a disable child myself and used to get her for a swim like 5 days every week. We did have classes at School for parents (it is charity group). You can ask at any local special school or at least get a programme for lessons. I believe that you can do that very good. Trust me

Contact your local American Red Cross. They have classes designed to teach anyone how to swim, so they should be able to point you in the right direction of where you could take one of those classes.

i think of $50 in keeping with hour of training is somewhat severe for a baby, yet probaby sturdy for an grownup lesson. in keeping with risk $25/lesson in keeping with youngster, make the sessions shorter than one hour - say 40 5 minutes or 50. this is form of significant the place you plan to coach; you are able to likely make greater at a club somewhat than the city pool, etc. determine you have permission from the power or you are able to desire to finally finally end up with none money and distinctive embarrassment. i might shoot for grownup classes, there are distinctive people who desire and desire to learn greater effective technique, yet there are not distinctive materials.
