Remember that it took 8-1/2 years between al Qaida attacks on the continental US and it has only been 6 years since the last attack.
Has the War in Iraq helped the terrorists to recruit and train new members like the CIA says, or do you believe Bush, Rush and Hanity?
Remember also that Bush, Rush and Hanity have been horribly wrong about everything they have predicted so far.

And remember also that the 9/11 commission and the US military command in Iraq say that Saddam was an enemy of the terrorists and they found proof opposite of Bush,Rush and Hanity's contention that he would help the terrorists.

Remember also that the terrorist, while getting training in Iraq either fighting against US troops or by joining the Iraqi army and then deserting, have done far more damage than the attacks on the Cole, or the US embassies in Africa.
Banging your head against a wall over and over again is not a strategy guys.

The American invasion of Iraq is a major recruitment poster for al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda's message was that the Americans are coming to Muslim lands. "They will invade your countries, expropriate your property, rape your women, and humiliate your men," al-Qaeda screams. What does Bush do? He proves al-Qaeda right. More angry young Arab men are ready to fight the United States now than ever before. Bush is less popular than Bin Laden in most Muslim countries according to polls.
Not only has the Bush administration angered the Sunni Muslim world with its invasion and ham-handed occupation of Iraq, but it has managed to turn the Shi'ites against us, too, by desecrating the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala this past spring.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been hearing about how much quieter it is in Iraq...now that more troops have been deployed. The American government are so busy patting themselves on the back that they haven't even considered that it could be that the insurgents have decided to let the Americans think they are winning. Let them pull out and leave the area completely...and then they can move back in. Wouldn't that make alot of sense on their part? And wouldn't it go a long way to teach the Americans a lesson?
But the answer to your question, directly, is NO. Iraq has no correlation to the safety of the US. It has nothing to do with 9/11, and it never posed a threat to Americans.

this is one much less usa that Al Qaeda can use as a recruiting mattress. Al Qaeda twisted up horribly in Iraq with its campaign of violence, plenty that Iraqi electorate who in many cases loathe the US have been extra prepared to artwork with us than them. So, in step with hazard next time Al Qaeda hits us, we will merely take over yet another center eastern usa. save rinsing and repeating and finally there is nowhere left for Al Qaeda to bypass.

We are definitely not safer. If anything we are probably more at risk for an attack because now the entire country hates us. I don't believe anything that comes out of Bush's mouth.

The people of this country are not the least bit safer, nor should they feel any safer. The only basic change I can see is that the security of this country has us on lock down.

1 ATTACK EVERY TEN YEARS IS WINNING. NOW YOU WANT TO BELIEVE THE CIA. BELIEVING THE CIA IS WHAT GOT US INTO THIS WAR. IN BETWEEN THOSE 8 1/2 YEARS THEY ATTACKED US ALL OVER THE WORLD . THE USS COLE , THE EMBASSY IN AFRICA, BLACK HAWK DOWN AND SO ON AND SO FORTH ALL ALQUEDA STRIKES.. NOW THEY DON'T GET THOSE CHANCES ANYMORE. THEY GO TO WHERE WE HAVE BOOTS ON THE GROUND. THE SOLDIERS HAVE TO BE ALLOWED TO DESTROY THE ENEMY FORGET THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT AND LET OUR BOYS GO TO WORK.

No I don't think so. If anything I feel less safe. I feel like the whole world hates us vs. before where only a big chunk of the world disliked us! :-)

Well think if you were in Iraq's position and you and your family would live in chaos everyday, with Americans on your soil. I would not be happy. and if i did survive, imagine what damage that can be done.
