For a 6th grade you don't even need eyeshadow yet. Instead stick with basic black eyeliner and lipgloss.

I started wearing makeup in the 6th grade, too. I put on different shades of eyeshadow (I used light brown and beige, and a little pink.) Then I added volumizing mascara because then I didn't need to worry about eyeliner. Sometimes, when I had bags under my eyes, I would put a little concealor. Then some lip gloss. You don't need a lot but that's what I did.

I would start with neutral colors, brown eyeliner, preferrably the self sharpening kind, brown/black regular mascara, a light/dark taupe eyeshadow kit, nude lipliner and a twig/taupe lipstick. Make sure to match your foundation to your skintone really close otherwise it will be noticible. I'm not a big fan of blush - don't have any advice there.
Trust me on the neutral color thing. 20 years ago I bought all the blues/pink/purples I could find. And when I put my makeup on, I looked like a clown.
Good luck - if possible stop by a fancy makeup counter where there is a salesperson to assist you. You don't have to pay high prices, you can just get an idea of the colors to look for at the pharmacy makeup section. (In my experience, Revlon, Almay, etc work as well as Clinque, Lancome, etc.)

Ok, so you want to keep it natural. Especially if you are just starting out. lol i hope you will except my answer because I am going to talk about some eyeshadow.... but this is the best answer anyone can give you.
WHAT TO BUY:
2 different shades of eyeshadow in some more natural looking shades. BUT you can still have fun with these.... like get a brown that has a little shimmer to it.
Brown/black mascara
eyelash curler
You dont need anything for your lips..... you can just use a simple chapstick just for something to add a little shine and to make your lips look nice and healthy.
Just keep it natural and even though you might think no one will notice... they WILL. You are going to love your new look!!!! =)

honestly for your age i would start with maybe some loose powder ( yes a lil powder makes a difference) and maybe a lil mascara.....and yes....lipgloss too...ha. thats actually my favorite part of my entire make up collection. but from experience, when it comes to makeup, less is more, and start slow. i stared wearing makeup when i was about your age too and now i kinda wish i had waited a lil longer. good luck! .....and most guys like a more natural look rather than a lot of makeup.

hmmm, im in 7th grade and have been applying makeup since 6th, so the best semi expensive eyeshadow is called Urban Decay, its shimmery and i love it. you can buy it at sephora or online. the single eye shadow are $16, and a pallette of 9 are $34. (thats what i have) for mascara, bourjois yes to volume, no to clumps mascara is fantastic, its $13.50 at sephora. for lip gloss, bourjois effet 3d shine lip gloss is AMAZING! at $15 at sephora. for cheaper eye shadow, bourjois has some pretty colors too. for cheaper lip gloss, hard candy sweet spot is shiny and tastes awesome. its $11 at sephora. also, you can try urban decay liquid liner for $11 at sephora too. most of these are expensive because they are high end. you want quality, not quantity. (learned that the hard way) actually, you can just go to sephora and find other awesome stuff, its like a makeup warehouse!
good luck~

I think the best make up for any age is the bare escentuals. All you need is the starter kit and some clear mascara, lip gloss (I'm 29 and that's all I use). It does not clog your pores, it feels and looks natural. And it lasts all day. It a little more pricey that most, but it will last a long time.

My neice is the same age is as you and she loves Urban Decay make up.You can get it at Sephora and department stores.Just remember the most important thing when you do start to wear make up and that is Do not use too much of it.You want to look natural not like a clown. Also make sure that you cleanse properly before bed as make up can cause blocked pores which can lead to zits.good luck and enjoy your new make up.

powder to match your skin tone, peach blush. light lip gloss, pinks, light silvers and browns for eyeshadow...maybe even some light purple and blue with sparkes...my sisters use them from mary kate and ashley. they are pretty colors. I wouldn't go with any liner unless it's like a light greay or something and you know how to blend just to accentuate your eyes. and a clear mascara, be sure to get a good one with conditioners so it doesn't damage your lashes.
don't forget about the makeup remover. i use mary kay. it is really good for your skin and it gets the eyemakup off like whoa! without rubbing, burning or making your eyes all red.
good luck and have fun!
