Discrimination is what makes me ashamed of belonging to mankind. It's knowing that if I'm a woman and I'm born in a tribe in Africa, at a very young age I'll have someone cutting my clitoris off with a piece of glass. It's knowing that people will judge me not for who I really am but just for what they think I am. It's knowing that my appearance, skin color, sex, sexuality, race will eventually come before what I believe in. It's knowing that if I were a Jew kid in the 30/40, I would have been brought to a camp and killed, or maybe starved to death. It's knowing that if I'm black , people will stare at me as if I just stabbed my own mother in the back..that if I'm gay, I'll have people worrying about my own soul or wanting me to burn on a stake as a witch.
But in the end, it's what makes us equal. We'll have to face discrimination in this world, sooner of later... We're all equal, women, Jews, Muslims, blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals, ill people, old people...

Discrimination is the pandemic form of the disease of ignorance. The germ has several mutations and comes in several forms.Gender discrimination, racial discrimination, political dicrimination and religious discrimination are just a few of its many variations. I can speak with authority on this subject as I have been at the receiving end of extreme racial discrimination and know exactly how painful and hurtful it can be. Discrimination has two sources, ignorance or stubborn suspicion. They have to be cured with education and mutual understanding. Discrimination to some extent, stems from a primal need for the control and compartmentalization of things that are not familiar to us. Discrimination usually manifests itself with symptoms like
1. Isolating the object of your hatred.
2. Not giving them a willing ear to voice their viewpoints
3. Trying to find fault with the person for things that are beyond their control
4. When the assault becomes a personal one instead of a neutral or impartial one, and exceeds reasonable boundaries
5. However the basic foundation of discrimination is to deny a person his basic rights.
All the aforementioned facts constitute discrimination in my view.

It is VERY frustrating! Just being a human being is hard enough and then you have someone who wants to hold you back because THEY don't think you deserve to move forward.
But personally I think it makes tough skin and a great lesson can be learned if you can learn how to get past it.
Jesus went through discrimination!
