i haven't worked on st George's day for the past 6 years and urge everyone to book the day off well in advance. I'm not religious, don't drink(so its not an excuse to get drunk) and I've never been one to pander to all the bloody PC brigade. I'm an Englishman and celebrate the day with a well earned rest with my family. i get up as normal in the morning and go to the florists and buy a single red rose and wear it on my jacket, as do all my friends. should be a national holiday but, alas, the PC brigade wont allow it, so i take the day off anyway. like my dad says "in the face of adversity, f**k em"

Hmmm... No you seem to be confused. This section is for St. Patrick's day.

Is St. George's Day a national holiday? Cos Paddy's day is here. Hence the advertising.

I am mainstream Anglican and not a member of a minority group. Of those I know, a good many simply go along with mainstream traditional holidays and do not take offense.
PC governments round the world have taken things a bit too far in my opinion.

I do not believe in saints days but the fact is that we must be the only country where a foreigner is better known than its own. But this is to suck up to the American and Irish terrorists.
