I got back from Italy in January 2007 from visiting family which I have not seen for about 10 years but I have the chance to go again in April 2007 for 4 weeks with a friend. I really want to go because I know I won't see them for awhile again. But I don't have enough money, family here is worried of me going on my own and don’t want me to go, I would be missing work and I have my cousin’s communion. I really want to go but I think of the cons and can’t decide if I should go or not. What should I do?

I think you should go...you won't be alone, you'll be with a friend and you never know when you'll EVER get another chance.

If you can get the time off of work, go. You can always make back the money, but you can't make opportunities come back after they've passed. I'm sure your cousin will understand about you missing the communion, you're going for family reasons. Also, depending on how old and mature you are, if you can handle traveling on your own, then go do it. It builds character and you will learn a lot more about yourself and your history and where you came from on trips like these.
