Boot from your original Windows CD and instead of continuing with setup hit "r" and to go to the repair console. type in chkdsk /F or chkdsk /R (depending on which version of windows you have) and let it run. When that finishes type in fixmbr and hit y to prceed with the mbr overwrite, then type fixboot and it y to confirm the boot overwrite. Restart and check your machine again. If that doenst work you might be looking at a bad hard drive.

First you should make certain what's causing it to crash. in case you've had i a at the same time as (6 months +) and performance no longer wiped clean it internally it may be shutting down because of severe CPU or motherboard temperature. ensure the CPU heatsink is firmly seated and that's fan is operating. Use the air output area of a vacuum cleanser (with the crevice device connected) to blow dirt/dirt out of the heatsink(s) and the potential grant. If that would not restore it you should close down history applications one at a time to work out what's stalling it.
