if you truly want someone for companionship, then it shouldn't matter if you meet them now or afterwards. from reading your question, i think that you are nervous about some guy's potential reaction. whether someone is your friend or boyfriend, one thing should hold true, they should love you for you.

There would be nothing wrong with having a boyfriend, my advice would be to let them know though that you are pre-op and are not willing to have sex. If they are uncomfortable with it (which many are, unfortunetly) it is their loss. I would recommend going on a few dates first and them tell them if the chemistry is there and you really like them, also make sure to tell them in a public place incase they react badly.
If you want to talk to someone in a similiar situation (I am 19 so almost 20s) e-mail or IM me. No matter what you decide to do good look with your life and finding that special someone.

Some people wait and some people don't. There is no right and wrong answer to it all. The idea of waiting is appealing because then you don't have to start by explaining to people before you become intimate with them that "You are not like most girls that they may have dated." and things can flow at a more natural pace. Remember that waiting doesn't mean that you will never have to explain your history to anyone, because if you care about them you will want them to know about who you are and who you were, your past and your present. So the decision is entirely yours as to when you tell people you can wait as long as you want, but you might meet someone and fall in love and want to be intimate with them before you have the operation and then you will need to let them know.

You should do what your heart desires. But please dont just leave the clinic or hospital and go and have sex straight away, it takes up to 6 months for you to heal properly and if you do it soon you will wreck everything. Be like my name and be a free spirit, just dont rush it.

Whatever you do, you have to be honest with anyone who comes into your life. That way, if something more happens, you'll know that the person loves you for who you really are.

As long as he knows your situation I don't see a problem with it. You do need to be honest with that person though, it is only fair, and honesty is a key component to any good relationship any way.
