Think about this...... What makes me CRAZY? How could I get people to see it the way I do?
For me, I wrote about where the best vacation spot was. I thought that the OBX (Outer Banx - North Carolina) was an awesome spot. So I said why I liked at, all the good things about it, to try to 'pursuade' others too feel the same way!
I have also done this about: Why I like Home-School. I am a home-schooled kid, so I said about WHY I liked being home schooled, and tryed to get others to feel the same!

Come up with something really off the wall, but make very convincing arguments. For example, try to persuade people that gem clips are actually dangerous weapons and should not be allowed on planes, or that we should stop schooling for first grade and up because "all we really need to know we learned in kindergarten." I like persuasive essays of this kind that try to persuade me to believe something nearly impossible. To me, they are much more persuasive than trying to persuade me into something easily believable. Something specific that you are passionate about.
Ask yourself this question: What is one thing that really bugs the heck out of me? How could I get someone to fix it?

if you want something topical how about, "giving tax breaks to middle income families to pay for college."
