Well what programs do you have set to start up when your computer does? Usually anti-viruses slow down the boot process a lot. I used to have Norton and I uninstalled if after a week. Right now I have One Care Live by Microsoft it boots a lot faster and it's a good program amazingly enough.

Are you using Norton antivirus? Norton antivirus will greatly reduce the startup time on a computer. But once it starts up and gets going, the computer is fine with speed. Also check for any spyare, or malware. It can also drain out the startup time.

Aside from the Anti-virus, check for spy-ware Adaware se is free and it works. Aside from that check the startup folder under your programs in the start menu. See whats in there. If its unnecessary stuff just delete the shortcuts. Alot of the time people have stuff in there and dont even realize it.

I recommend running the program Bootvis, it was made by Microsoft but they no longer support it. Despite that it seems to do wonders at increasing boot speed, by analyzing what your PC is doing when it boots.
