I want to vote anomynously in a voting contest online but am concerned about what information automatically registers about me. If I use my alternative email address, does my computer location or IP address show up on their end? My name? My home location?

They will know your IP Address, your Internet service provider, the browser you're using, the OS you have whether it be Windows or Mac, your general geographic area and other information like that. If they really wanted to they could use that information to dig down deeper to figure out who you are. There is no such thing as being anonymous online.

Your IP will show up because it is the point of origin. That will not give up any "personal" information...

You can use a throwaway email address (highly suggested) unless you intend to continue using the website...but I wouldn't worry about them getting personal info on you...unless you give it to them
