no it is possible, but will be difficult, there are places with tutors to help students with their classes, utilize them and i'm sure you could do it. i think you should do it. what have you got to lose? good luck

In the minimum, it will take you 4 years. However, it is more likely to take you 5 to 6, as it does with a number of engineering students. Reason being is that the course of study is rigorous and most people don't care to load up on 15 + hours of engineering related courses per semester.

This means that you could potentially be 73 years old when you graduate with your BS in the engineering field of your choice. I know that there are laws against age discrimination, but being that age and an engineer straight out of college with little engineering experience, many companies are likely to pass you by. That is, of course, if your previous experience doesn't lend to your new profession.

If you're already an engineer or technologist, I think you should be okay. You're not too old to refresh your learning. If you have technology work in your background, you should be able to get a job again.

If you have no engineering or technologist background, it probably is a little late. You'll need at least four years of intense schooling, and without experience your job prospects might be limited.
