what does this job involve and wat would i learn in college if i took this?

It involves supporting an electrical engineer by breadboarding and testing designs in an early prototype stage. It also involves documenting results achieved from lab tests.

You will learn how to use basic test equipment such as an oscilloscope, voltmeter, spectrum analyzer, and so on to measure the performance of the item you are testing. You will also learn basic electrical theory (Ohm's Law, hertz vs. volts vs. resistance, what a Faraday cage is used for, that type of thing.)

You won't be an engineer, but you'll be the next best thing - and with additional education it's a role you could move into.
