I've read all of the dark materials trilogy and I thought that they were very well written. The way he presents the idea of souls in those books is mind blowing. The ending was a little sad but after all is said and done I loved them. I read them years ago and still have them sitting on my bookshelf because I didn't want to part with them.

I am in the middle of the Dark Materials trilogy right now. I just picked up The Subtle Knife. Only I read The Golden Compass first. Is Northern Lights another name for the same book? I swear it said book one on the cover. Hmm... anyway I thought the first book was amazing. I think I read a couple hundred pages in one sitting! I just couldn't put it down, I'm so anxious to know what happens to Pan and Lyra!

I love His Dark Materials. I didn't know that another name for the first book, The Golden Compass (for me anyway), was Northern Lights. That is pretty cool. I have to say that I loved these books and couldn't get enough of them. I also liked they way he portrayed souls, and death. They are making The Golden Compass (or Northern Lights) into a movie, due to be released this December! I hope they don't botch the movie.

Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, American Gods & Anansi Boys are fantastic! I ought to 2nd Terry Pratchett Disc international sequence, besides the fact that if i got here upon them to be greater humorous than dark & suspenseful. a number of my favourite in the sequence are Soul song, Hogfather, Witches in another country, Wyrd Sisters, equivalent Rites, and Guards Guards! yet all of them are engrosing & stunning. i might additionally recommend an older sequence with the help of Piers Anthony observed as the Incarnation sequence. It replace right into a great study. My favourite replace into Being a green mom, With a Tangled Skein, and To journey a mild Horse, besides the fact that if, in case you will discover it, the excellent sequence is great to study so as one after the different.
