I will explain the problem in detail… My XP was shut down improperly… Later.. when I turned it on… I went to this page tht told me tht the computer was shut down improperly and tht some hardware or software problem must hav caused it… Thn it gives me the options to go into Safe mode w/ networkin/command prompt or just safe modE… And to start windows automatically…
It doesn’t matter what I click…. The XP page (with the moving bars) loads for sometime and thn it turns off… and thn restarts…
This has happened couple of times before and I restored the computer.. but now I hav figured out tht it was because of the improper shut down… So now the computer never starts… it just comes to the XP loading page and thn turns off… thn restarts.. it keeps doin tht… what shud I do???

The only thing you can do it restore it again. Unless you are still under warranty then you can call the computer manufacturer.

Restoring a computer is by far the worse possible thing to do to a computer. I know that is what Microsoft recomends but its actually the worse you can do to a computer. When you restore a computer, it doesnt erase anything, it just takes you back to an earlier time. Just overlapping the spyware or viruses you may've or may'not have had. The best thing you can do right now is do a complete reinstall of Windows. This will cost you about 100 bucks. Go to walmart, bestbuy or any retailer that sells the Windows XP Disc. Buy it, and then follow the instructions. This will ensure that all spyware and viruses or any problems are completely erased off the system software related. If it's hardware related, then you will have to take other measures to figure out what it is.

I hope this helps, let me know!

your cpu might be in trouble....have you overclocked your system? it seems to me like your cpu is overheating....try upgrading the cpu fan to a better one also boot to your bios and set your cpu multiplier settings to auto and your FSB settings to auto. this should set it to the factory recommended settings.
