When im going slow, or pulling out of a parking place the power steering seems to not work properly. But when im going at about 20 and above there seems to be no problems. What is causing this? The car is a Hyduai Elantra

could be the steering rack going bad.

What's causing it is a worn pump or lower unit. When you're on the road, it's spinning a lot faster and doesn't have to work as hard, so fluid leaking past the seals isn't as big a deal. Replacing the pump is easy and not too expensive. The lower unit is harder and costs more.
Uhhh.....You have checked the fluid level, right?

Well you could check the fluid and pump to make sure they work. Check the p/s belt too.

I think is a type of ratio steering.. where it gets easier as you speed up...

you could try and take it to Tee Pee Tire in Ocala, Fl. they can fix just about anything. my dad works there and his phrase is, "if I can't fix it, I can break it so no one else can!" and he really can!!!!!

check the belt.it could be loose.
